VILLAGE SCHOOL

St. Peter’s C of E (Aided) Primary School

Mill Road, Gringley on the Hill            01777 817330

Headteacher: Yvonne Reeson

Office Manager: Carolyn Taylor

There are four classes:

Foundation Stage: 3-5 years (Nursery & Reception)

Key Stage 1: 5-7 years (Years 1-2)

Lower Key Stage 2: 7-9 years (Years 3-4)

Upper Key Stage 2: 9-11 years (Years 5-6)

OFSTED inspected St. Peter’s in December 2009 and commented on how “pupils achieve well and enjoy their learning. Good teaching and an interesting curriculum contribute to pupils’ speedy progress and to the above average standards by the end of Year 6. The welcoming atmosphere and good care, guidance and support lead to good personal outcomes for pupils.

The predominant characteristic of St. Peter’s is its Church School ethos. The school is characterised by good behaviour, supportive parents and families, well-motivated staff, competent Governors and a wider community which cares for the school. The Church School Inspection of February 2010 found St. Peter’s to be a place with “a strong family atmosphere where all find a sense of belonging.”
