DOCTOR & SURGERY

 

The Misterton Group Practice has two surgeries - at Misterton and Gringley on the Hill. There are three doctors of whom two visit the Gringley surgery. Gringley surgery is open Monday to Friday between 8.30 am and 12.30 pm. If there is urgent need patients can have appointments at Misterton which has more extensive opening times.

Both surgeries operate an on-site Pharmacy.

FIRST RESPONDERS

Gringley participates in a Five Villages First

Responder Scheme. There are volunteer

Community First Responders who live or

work within Misterton and surrounding areas

in North Nottinghamshire. They work in

partnership with East Midlands Ambulance

Service (EMAS) and respond to life

threatening emergency medical calls within

our area, providing vital assistance to people

who are ill or injured prior to the arrival of

the Emergency Ambulance.

HOSPITALS

The nearest hospital, John Coupland Hospital, Gainsborough, has a Minor Injuries Unit that is open from 8.00am to 8.00pm seven days a week.


The larger hospitals, Bassetlaw Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary have A & E Departments.The Retford Hospital has no A & E or Minor Injuries Unit but runs various clinics.

NEWSPAPERS

Newspapers can be delivered to an address in the High Street from which they can be collected. There is a small daily fee of 7p for this service, which is provided by the Newsagent in Mattersey.

POSTAL SERVICES

There is a daily delivery service and there are two post boxes in the village, with a weekday collection time of 4pm.

The nearest Post Office is at Mattersey.


UTILITIES

There is no piped gas to the village. Most houses have mains electricity and water and drainage. Heating is by solid fuel, electricity, LPG or Kerosene Oil, with regular deliveries to the village.

TELEPHONE

The exchange is at Ranskill and most land-lines in the village share the Retford prefix of 01777. Reasonable strength signals are obtained for most mobile providers in the village itself. There is a particularly strong signal strength from Three, who have a nearby transmitter.

BROADBAND

SALT & GRIT BINS

These are provided throughout the village.

They are to help keep traffic moving along the highway and people along the pavements and NOT intended for private use.

WASTE COLLECTION

Waste removal and Recycling is provided by Bassetlaw District Council from Wheelie bins.


In addition to the weekly collection of wheeled bins, there is a chargeable service to enable you to dispose of those items that are too large to go in your wheeled bin. To arrange these please call:

Currently collections in the village are on Wednesdays with alternate weeks on different coloured Wheelie bins:

blue = recycling    green = all other waste.
